With Building Information Modelling (BIM) knowledge, you can enter a career as a BIM technician, manager, project manager or digital engineer. This rapidly growing area of construction is fast becoming the foundation for smart cities of the future.

Architects, engineers, builders, building owners and project managers are embracing BIM, because it encapsulates everything from planning to designing to managing to constructing a project in the virtual world before it’s built in the physical world — all without picking up a tool!

Benefits of BIM

  • Minimised reworks: explore designs, test multiple building materials and construct your project in the virtual world; so it works first time in the physical world, saving time and money.
  • Improved productivity: multiple skill sets are usually involved to create a single master plan. BIM reduces conflicts and costs.
  • Faster client approvals: present project visuals for speedy turnarounds or add them to a business case.
  • Better scheduling: sequence project steps, so you know which trade is needed at which stage and what materials are needed on site.
