Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP)

Swinburne’s Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) offers FREE English classes for eligible migrants and humanitarian entrants living in Australia with no or low levels of English. The program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs.

If this sounds like you, you can access unlimited hours of English classes until you reach vocational English levels.

ELICOS 

Swinburne also offers English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS). This course will help improve your English language skills so you can study or progress your career.

At Swinburne, we’ll personalise your ELICOS course to suit you, your goals and your existing language skills. 

  • General English: improve your day-to-day language skills and prepare you for further English language studies
  • English for Academic Purposes: learn the language skills you'll need to study at university. This helps meet the minimum English language entry requirements for your chosen Swinburne course.

Skills for Education and Employment (SEE)

This is a specialised program funded by the Australian Government.

SEE provides uncapped hours of free accredited language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills training for eligible job seekers for up to two years. You will receive training to help you improve your skills, confidence and access to education and job opportunities.

  2. Then get a referral through your local referring agency.
