Important notes to consider
Chuo is a competitive destination with limited places. As such, please put careful consideration into choosing your second and third preference as back-up options.

Students applying to Chuo need to meet the following requirements:

  • Completed at least 1 year of study at Swinburne (in their current degree) at the time of application;
  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA (very strict requirement)

Please note that most of the courses are taught in Japanese at Chuo University, with limited courses taught in English. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that students have an equivalence of at least N3 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

Courses available for exchange students
Some faculties such as the Faculty of Commerce and the Faculty of Science and Engineering offers very few courses in English, and students should have a JLPT certificate. The Faculty of Global Management and the F
aculty of Global Informatics are very competitive or take few exchange students. Therefore students planning on studying at Chuo should have flexibility with their units.
