The QS World University Rankings assesses universities based on six criteria: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty, ratio of international faculty members and ratio of international students.
Swinburne’s performance this year is driven by our research citation and employer reputation.
Innovative research and graduate employability
‘Our researchers continue to produce innovative solutions to real-world problems across a range of disciplines and sectors including health, data science, social innovation, smart cities and the future of manufacturing,’ says Swinburne’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise), Professor Bronwyn Fox.
‘Their work has been acknowledged in prestigious publications and garnered international recognition,’ Professor Fox adds.
Some of Swinburne’s recent achievements include:

The employer reputation metric is based on almost 50,000 responses to the QS Employer Survey, which asks employers to identify the institutions from which they source the most competent, innovative and effective graduates.
Swinburne’s performance in this area aligns with our vision to be the prototype of global best practice.
